Our Family Martial Arts program gives benefits to children which reach far beyond the dojo into the real-world arena. 

Our classes are structured to develop fitness, coordination, mental fortitude, and valuable social skills. We bring out the best in your children to help them succeed in life.

The family program is designed specifically so parents can train side-by-side with their children. Together they all can enjoy their journey to Black Belt and beyond in a unique system of Kenpo Ju Jitsu, the healing arts of the Dan Zan Ryi Jitsu system; and with the master key elements of Kali-Silat and Mui-Thai Kickboxing.

 
 

ADULT MARTIAL ARTS  PROGRAM

Both adults and mature teens will find that studying martial arts is an activity that any age or fitness level can do. The classes are both fun and  empowering. Whether you want to defend yourself, gain confidence, lose weight, or just have fun, our adult martial arts program has something to offer.

Don MacKay

Owner and Chief Instructor

Master Don Mac Kay is an 8th degree black belt with over 35 years’ experience in multiple Martial Art modalities: Kali, Kick Boxing, Silat, Weaponry, Kettle Ball, Shootfighting, and Kenpo Ju Jitsu.

 

His passion for the Martial Arts is an on-going, life-time journey. His ranks are recognized by the United States Karate Association (USKA), the International Kenpo Karate (IKKA), the American Karate Association (AKA), the Amerindo Silat, De Pasquale Jiu Jitsu, and the US Judo Federation (USJF).

 

Master Mac Kay has trained with an impressive and comprehensive list of mentors which include Guru Dan Inosant (student of Bruce Lee Sr.), Grand Master Edmund C. Parkers, and Grand Master Robert Trias. In addition to his martial studies, he has also trained in healing arts of Myofascial Self-Release and Somatic Body Movement.

Mr. Fowler

Academy Manager

Mr. Fowler is the academy manager of the Black Belt Academy. Starting out as a student in the after school program, Mr. Fowler was recognized as a qualified candidate for the Instructors Training Program.

After attaining his instructor certification, he joined staff shortly afterward as the Academy Manager. He assists in the day-to-day operations as well as continuing his service to the students as an instructor.

Knowledge is Power

The structure of our programs supports an individual’s rapid and sustainable growth. Over the past 40 years the methods and technology we use has evolved greatly. We know humans learn in a variety of different ways and each class, workshop, and private lesson that we teach has been curated to support the myriad of ways that humans learn.

Mastery is not a spectator sport 

We encourage all our members to embrace the training methodologies we employ in class by practicing at home.  Our approach to teaching embraces the traditional paradigm of training for a lifetime. We provide the tools that allow for continued individual self-growth wherever a student may be. Our instructors are ready to assist with long distance questions. Generally, this transformation occurs after several months in class as confidence in spirit occurs, the body and mind become stronger, and limiting beliefs melt away.
